Description:  Cute little 0-4-0 yard switcher with the slope tender in action at the Philadelphia yard. Built by the Juniata Shops in November of 1917, the little workhorse lasted until retirement in October of 1948. This model reminds me of the Lionel switcher #1656 with the ringing tender bell. Newer model #94 looks even closer to the actual loco. Unknown photographer and date is approximate.

Specifics - class M1, 72" drivers, impressive 250 lb psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 385,850 lb, tractive effort of 64,547 lb. According to SteamLocomotive.com "The design of the PRR's "Mountain" locomotive was not an extension of its Class K4s "Pacific", but rather a descendant of its I1s "Decapod". It was the work of J. T. Wallis, Chief of Motive Power and W. F. Kiesel, Jr, Mechanical Engineer, who started with an I1's boiler, enlarged the combustion chamber, then used the "Decapod's" guides, crossheads and many other parts." The loco served for over 39 years before being scrapped in November of 1951. The loco on the left is difficult to read its number - something like 5232 or 5982. Description:  Here is one of the later H-10s Consolidations built by Alco for the PRR. By now, it has the major improvements developed over the years already built into it giving it a smoother, more solid look. Thanks to Warren Evans (see comment below), the exact location has been identified as the Rose Lake engine house in East St. Loius, Illinois, the last PRR yard and engine house in Illinois before crossing the Mississippi River into St. Louis, Mo.
