Album Info:Depot I found by accident near a hotel I stayed at. Central of Georgia depot located at 126 E. Johnston Street Forsyth, Georgia. Designed by Bruce & Morgan of Atlanta. Built in 1899. Replaced earlier depot built by Macon & Western Railroad. Earlier depot built sometime between 1846 and 1850. Earlier depot was used for freight after new depot opened in 1899. CofG depot used to have a porte-cochere in front. CofG depot is currently Monroe County Museum – Genealogy. Macon & Western depot used as a community center. Track is currently NS.

Westbrook of Blount, GA to Monroe County Historical Society November 10, 1993 This steam engine was used on the Westbrook family farm in Blount, GA by William H. Westbrook (uncle Bill) to operate a small saw mill, the engine remained operational until the early 1980’s.
