Title:
PRR 1339, K-4S, 1954
Description:
Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Camden, New Jersey, in 1954. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1339, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during May of 1918 and retired in February of 1956 after 38 years of faithful service. Partly visible in the right-distance is the ghostly form of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.
