Duplexes. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide showing Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5526, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during November of 1945 and retired in December of 1953. Note that the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for movement to the Recycling Center. Partially visible at the right is an unidentified PRR Class Q-2 (4-4-6-4) steam locomotive, which appears to be headed to the same fate. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (Gift from Brad Mann.) |
