Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in July of 1917, UP 2-10-2 Santa Fe type #5001 (serial #45880, class TTT-1) steam locomotve served for nearly 32 years of service before being scrapped in January of 1949. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 29.5x30" cylinders, engine weight of 362,200 lb, tractive effort of 70,450 lb. No photographer, date or location was given for this photo. With the mountain range in the background, I'm leaning toward Oregon but not sure. The building in the right background has a sign at the top that says "Sperry". Anyone recognize this site? |
