Title:  ATSF 1
Description:  Santa Fe 2-8-0 #1, the “Cyrus K. Holliday,” was originally Santa Fe 2-8-0 #132, built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in September 1880. In 1898 the locomotive was renumbered #912, and it was renumbered again in 1900 (to #2414) when converted to an 0-8-0, and renumbered back to #132 again in 1941 (when it was converted back to a 2-8-0). It became #1 (and named for Santa Fe’s first president and a founder of Topeka, KS, Cyrus K. Holliday) in the early 1960s for use as on operating display celebrating the Kansas State Centennial at the Kansas Free Fair in Topeka between June 15th and 25th, 1961. (Frank "Woody" Woodburn photo)

Title:  ATSF 2-8-0 #664 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:  Looking resplendid before taking its place at Travel Town after being donated in 1953, this 1899 Baldwin2-8-0 Consolidation started out as #891, an ATSF class 664. It had the small 57" drivers and was an oil burner that developed a boiler pressure of 180 psi and generated a tractive force of 33,145 lb. This lucky locomotive survived at Travel Town while most of the other class members were scrapped before WW II. Unknown photographer. The day in July, 1953 is approximate.

Title:  ATSF 664
Description:  ATSF 664 was built in 1899 by Baldwin. It has 57" drivers and 21" x 28" cylinders, and il weighs 70 tons. Originally numbered #891, this oil-burning locomotive was used exclusively for freight in Texas, Oklahoma, and surrounding states. It was still in actime use when it was donated to Travel Town by Santa Fe in 1953. In keeping with Santa Fe's class system, being the first unit of this class, it is one of 45 Class 664 Consolidations.

Description:  This is the first Santa Fe to wear the number 684 - later it would be a Dash9-44CW unit. This loco was built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin) in 1898 as one of the very first Baldwin built Pacifics iwth cast steel frames. It had small 57" drivers generated a boiler pressure of 180 psi for its 21"x28" cyldinders.The engine weight was a modest 156,130 lb and it could produce a tractive effort of 33,145 lb. Here it sits in the Topeka yard waiting for a new assignment. No photographer was identified.
