Here is the third of four successive duplicate 35mm color slides of photos by John Dziobko, Jr., that were taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Engine Service Tracks at Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, on 2 May 1953. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #4995 and #4730. #4995 is an E-3B (B-B-B) electric built by Baldwin-Westinghouse during June of 1951, rated at 3,000 horsepower, and retired in June of 1965. #4730 is a P-5A (2-C-2) built by Baldwin-Westinghouse in December of 1932, rated at 3,750 horsepower, and retired in November of 1964. Description:  Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at Frankford Junction near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 13 September 1953. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4738 and #4734. Both are P-5A (2-C-2) boxcabs built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 3,750 horsepower each. #4738 was built in February of 1933 and retired in March of 1964, while #4734 was built in January of 1933 and retired in October of 1964. In this context, they're pulling a livestock train on its way from the midwest to the slaughter houses of New York. ("LouisFols"; #11 of 13)

Description:  Joint production by Baldwin and Westinghouse produced this 1933 P5a electric boxcab seen here running freight. Specs - 72" drivers, engine weight of 392,000 lb, power supply of 11kV AC @ 25 Hz catenary, sic 625hp AC traction motors plus four 325hp motors on the trucks. Number 4700 is preserved in the Museum of Transportation in Kirkwood, MO. Unknown photographer and the date is approximate.

Note that both pantographs are down. The exact date and the location are not recorded. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electrified Operations On The Pennsy" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (791-25).

Description:  Still in its original sepia color is the photograph of the 1931 Baldwin built 4-6-4 Hudson, MILW 6414, as it passes through Chicago trackage. Specs - class F-6, 80" drivers, 225 psi boiler pressure, 26x28" cylinders, engine weight of 380,220 lb, tractive effort of 45,250 lb. The photo credit was listed as F.M. No date was given but since it still carries its original number, it must be before the 1938 Milwaukee Road renumbering.
