Alan Fricker General Is this an ex-MILW loco? 5/24/2009 2:57:37 PM
Richard Peters General This is actually an Algoma Railroad engine, a tourist operation. The A&W stopped operating it's own trains in 1972 7/18/2010 5:24:13 PM
Andre Wehrle General I like the bi-directional horns. Looks like a P5 for short hood operation and an M3 for when long-hood forward. If Mid-Continent ever restores this diesel to service, I'd like to see/hear a setup like that again! 1/14/2018 7:02:42 PM
Joe Korienek General Wow. Almost no fuel tank. Usually, this space is filled more. 4/2/2021 11:58:29 AM
Traci Schott General I happened across this photo today as I currently reside in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin, not too far from Algoma. I then research this tourist operation further, And came across this interesting website that gives the entire history of the fairly short life of this railroad. It also mentions that this locomotive Kanell be seen at the midcontinent real museum in Nu freedom Wisconsin, which is on my list of places to visit next spring when it reopens. 12/15/2022 7:46:38 PM
Traci Schott General Here is a link to the website, which provides the history of this Algoma tourist rail service back in the 1970s. http://www.mccloudriverrailroad.com/Subsidiaries/AlgomaRR.htm 12/15/2022 7:47:31 PM
Linden Ostrand General Lindenostrand as someone who lives in the area, I know that all the rails are torn up and replaced with a walking trail 7/24/2023 1:24:46 PM
