CRI&P E3A 625
CRI&P E3A 625 at the 47th Street coach yard, Chicago, Illinois, June 13, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built by EMC in July 1939 (c/n 934), on EMC Order E245A for two E3A's (625 and 626). These two E3's were intended for the new Rocky Mountain Rocket. Only 17 E3A's were built, and only two E3B's. Rock Island's units survived until traded to EMD in September 1969. There's a nice as-built image at the RITS web site: http://www.rits.org/www/equipment/dieselpix/rmr.gif
