NOBLE OK January 1976 -- (This photo is a victim of my sometimes inept home developing of Ektachrome but I like it anyway.) Santa Fe FP45 5940 and another cowl unit lead a mixed train west (compass south). EMD built the 5940 as ATSF 100 (s/n 33189) in Silver with red warbonnet for passenger service. In the 69-70 general renumbering it became ATSF 5940. After May 1 1970 it was reassigned to freight service. It then went through being painted blue with yellow ends before mid-1971, painted blue with yellow warbonnet and was rebuilt as SDFP45 5990 at San Bernardino CA in September 1982. It wore SPSF paint but was renumbered 100 and gained superfleet paint, was renumbered to 5990 and then to 90. It was laid up bad ordered and eventually donated to the Oklahoma Railway Museum (http://www.oklahomarailwaymuseum.org/equipment/) in Oklahoma City where it presently resides.
