Nice color photo by an unknown photographer of the GE switcher. Information on the back of the photo identify it as a GE 70ton 500 hp unit built in 1955 for the US Army. The info on this website lists it as an 80T built in August of 1942 for the US Army and eventually sold to the Plum Brook Ordinance Depot. The DieselShop website lists #27 as being built in 8/1942 for the Plum Brook Ordinance Depot and then sold to the US Army. Can anyone clarify the discrepancy here? |
