Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-June of 1966. Shown here are some fully-loaded hopper cars and the brake-shoe smoke of an eastbound coal train as they're rockin' 'n' rollin' down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. Also visible is four-track Signal Bridge #2398. |
