Photo Caption: "Class R (H-3) Consoldiation type locomotive. The first locomotives of this Class were built at Altoona in 1885." Shown here is PRR engine #437, an H-3 (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during April of 1886 and sold in September of 1910 after 24 years of faithful service. |
