AMTK 4618
The further west we went the more snow we got into. By the time we got to Chenoa, you couldnt see in any direction. We pulled into the McDonalds parking lot and ended up getting stuck in the heavy, deep, wet snow. We were forced to stay the evening at the Americas Best Value Inn along the Interstate in town, which ended up having no vacancy later that night due to the storm. I attempted to go get shots of AMTK 20 in the heavy snow that afternoon. The only way I could go catch it would be having to walk for a half a mile. Thats pretty hard to do with it snowing so hard you can barely see your hand in front of your own face. I left just a little too late and missed it. Didnt even see the power because of the snow falling so hard. I waited another hour and a half and finally by that point the snow had started to calm down a bit so I could walk down and catch AMTK 304, Lincoln Service train, headed north with my first Siemens Charger unit leading! By this point there was about a Foot of snow on the ground and I could see 3 different wrecks from where I was standing by the UP tracks waiting for the Amtrak train. The tracks that run north/south through Chenoa are owned by UP, but are mostly used by Amtrak for their Lincoln Service trains and the Texas Eagle.
