Photo Caption: "Alco FA-1 #9605, 1500-hp, at Enola, Pa." Shown here are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9605 and several other units whose numbers are not recorded. #9605 is an AF-15 built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1950, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in May of 1965 after just 15 years of revenue service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-27). |
