PRR Coaling Tipple, 1978
Hagerstown. Here is an original 35mm color slide by Mel Laurence that was taken near Hagerstown, Maryland, on 13 March 1978. In the background is the now-abandoned steam-era coaling tipple belonging to the Pennsylvania Railroad. In front of it is an orphaned PRR "coast-to-coast" steam locomotive tender that appears to have been converted into an oil tanker.
