The classic Pennsylvania Railroad "F" symbol, designating the long section of the high-hood diesel the front. The majority of Pennsy Diesels had their longer sections of the high-hood designated as the front of the locomotive because crews thought it would provide additional safety and it was similar to the cab placement on steam locomotives. |
