Independent Locomotive Service GP39-2 1390, seen here on a Nebraska Kansas Colorado Railnet ballast train, is the former Union Pacific 2749, ex-HATX 3950, ex-Kennecott Copper (KCCX) 795, ex-KCCX 110, nee-KCCX 795. This engine was originally built with an extended-height cab for use in Kennecotts copper mines in Utah. While since lowered, the cab retains unusual overhangs on the front. This locomotive also retains its unusual high-clearance fuel tank. (Danbury, Nebraska - May 9, 2008) |
