PRR 5712, EP-22, 1960
Mann. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in October of 1960. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5712 and another "EP" Class unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD. #5712 is an EP-22 constructed in October of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. Looks to me like the engineman is thinking deep thoughts! ("PrrFan18n")

Eric Reinert General Passenger power on the GR&I in 1960? Also looks to me like the man in the cab has a suit on. 7/1/2021 11:17:17 AM
Eric Reinert General There was a Notre Dame Vs/ Michigan State Football game that day! A Football Special could easily be the reason for such power on the GR&I that late! Cool photo. 3/2/2022 4:22:28 PM
