Both MILW #48 and #49 were built by EMD in April of 1974. They were two of only 15 F40C's built by EMD and strictly used in commuter service by the Milwaukee Road. #48 was nicknamed "City of Roselle" while #49 had the nickname of "Village of Streamwood". Both would end up as Metra locos after the collapse of the Milwaukee Road. An unidentified rail fan took these photos in the album all on 9/16/1981. |
