C&S 2-8-2 Class E-4A 803 |
Description: |
Colorado & Southern Railway 2-8-2 Class E-4A 803, at Cheyenne, Wyoming, on an unknown day in October 1957, Kodachrome by Dick Rumbolz, Chuck Zeiler collection. Built by Baldwin in 1911 (c/n 35897) it had 26.5 X 30 cylinders, 57 inch drivers, weighed 283340 pounds. It was sold for scrap sometime after June 1959. In 1910, Baldwin built 50 class O-1 2-8-2's for C&S parent CB&Q, so it's possible that this locomotive is a copy of that design. The C&S had five E-4A 2-8-2's on its roster, numbers 800-804. |
