Caption On Reverse: "Loaded with head-end revenue express cars, Pennsylvania RR GG-1 #4930 rolls through Leaman Place, PA, with a westbound passenger express. They looked kinda' black, but they were a special dark green, Brunswich Green, don'tcha know. 1962 photo." Photo by John M. Prophet III. #4930 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata during February of 1943, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and retired by the Penn Central Railroad in December of 1968 after 25 years of faithful service. The exact date is not recorded. |
