| PRR Men. Here is the obituary of Herbert P. Ruck (1903-1971) from the 22 September 1971 issue of the "Altoona Mirror." The caption reads (in part): "He entered the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad at Fort Wayne on Aug. 19, 1919, as a carbuilder apprentice. He came to Altoona Nov. 16, 1951, moving on to Philadelphia as superintendent of passenger equipment April 12, 1964, and retiring there Sept. 1, 1968." He was also the overall Superintendent of the PRR's Altoona Car Shops from 1960-1964. |
